Duolingo

Duolingo is a free website that has a method similar to Rosetta Stone, in that it relies on repetition of vocabulary and grammar, using images and writing. You gain XP for answering questions and translating texts, and you can even connect with other learners and see who gains the most XP in a given time!

Conjuguemos

This is a fantastic resource to practice conjugating verbs in a variety of tenses. There is also available vocabulary practice: the page is listed either by book or by theme. I would recommend looking by theme. If you choose to look at lists by book, Imaginez would be the most similar.

News in Slow French

New in Slow French requires a paid subscription, but is a useful tool for improving listening comprehension. They also have a podcast available for free on Itunes.

TV5 Monde

TV5 Monde has a variety of videos and accompanying activities to practice listening comprehension. The videos are scaled from A1 (absolute beginner) to B2 (intermediate to high level). The videos are all authentic, meant for French speakers, so it is also good to hear different accents, audio levels, etc.

RFI Savoirs

This is basically the radio version of TV5. There are different radio pieces to listen to, with activities to test what you understood. It uses the same scale as TV5. In addition, on the regular RFI website, you can listen to “Les Journaux en Français Facile” by scrolling to the bottom of the page.

Lyrics Training

With Lyrics Training, you can listen to French songs from Youtube, and fill in words as you hear them. If you want listening comprehension practice, this is another good website to go to!
